2019 Appraisal

The number of outings had been set before the start of the year with the guide. The purpose of canyoning is to introduce as many people as possible to the different techniques for descending a canyon, including handling ropes specific to canyoning. The objective is not only the discovery, but also the improvement of the members on these different techniques. A 4-day weekend was organized in the Sierra de Guara, in Spain. He was highly appreciated by the participants and was very trainer (many techniques for descending a canyon were used and the participants learned to ask a reminder for example). A 2-day outing in May to the eastern Pyrenees was canceled due to the weather and then postponed until October. This canyon was short and simple, and therefore could serve as an initiation trip and allow some first year's student to discover the sport.
The club was merged with the climbing club in terms of reimbursements (now only count for one expensive medium sport). This allows members of the climbing club, generally interested in canyoning, to go out without being penalized. The club has grown in popularity, which has made the low number of outings frustrating for those interested in the sport, but this is motivating about the future of the club.
Notes for 2020:
The club has regained popularity, so there is great demand from AS members, but outings are limited to 8 people.
